Large Baltic Amber Statement Ring - One-of-a-Kind Miyuki Beaded Design

A large, remarkably clear piece of natural Baltic amber forms the centre of this one-of-a-kind statement ring. Viewed from the front, the amber appears luminous golden, but its colour and depth change noticeably as the ring turns. From one angle, deeper dark-honey and cognac tones gather within the stone; from another, light passes through and refracts inside it, creating a bright, almost sunlit golden glow. Its unusual high-profile oval cut, with steep rounded sides and a softly flattened polished crown, gives the amber considerable depth and plays an important part in the way light travels through it. Rather than presenting one fixed colour, the stone reveals a different character from each perspective.

The Baltic amber is framed with warm golden Japanese Miyuki beads and set into a wide, flexible handwoven band. The beadwork was deliberately kept within the same warm metallic palette so that it complements rather than competes with the amber, allowing its clarity, unusual cut and shifting tones to remain the focus. From the setting surrounding the stone to the entire band, the ring is constructed bead by bead without a conventional metal ring base. Creating this piece requires several hours of detailed handwork, with each part of the structure shaped around this particular piece of amber.
